Marcelo Gleiser on the immortality that the WWW brings

Today Marcelo Gleiser has a wonderful blog entry on 13.7 Cosmos and Culture. I just loved the ending – I’m not going to spoil the fun here, just read it for yourself before you continue reading the next lines!

I loved it simply because it made me think: the Internet is so much about shallow stuff, quick and dirty typing, social networking like Twitter, Facebook, news feeds, all that jazz. Many of us go about on the internet quite mindlessly. What Gleiser points to, is that it may be wise to proceed with caution, and to ask yourself: How would I like to be remembered on the WWW? Being on the Internet is apparently all about mindfulness, since the WWW does not forget. It’s memory is seemingly endless, you can achieve immortality instantly. Makes you think, doesn’t it?

Thanks Marcelo!
