"Three Pieces for Sonic Solitude"
After a long time, I thought it was time to release three new musical compositions. Composed during 2012, using Cubase 6.5, some hardware synths, and a lot of software synths and plugins as well as a couple of samples, these compositions sound much more mature than my earlier compositions. And more serious. These three pieces together form are a kind of complete listening experience, though they are separate electronic musical compositions.
This first movement is the longest, lasting almost 12 minutes. I was inspired by the Voyager, who is currently leaving the solar system, into the unknown expanses of the universe. It has a kind of "space opera" feel to it.
This second movement, of about 6 minutes, is an elaboration of a melancholic melody I found on a Sunday afternoon.
This piece was supposed to be the second part of the First Movement (which was originally named "Voyager"). However, while working on this song, it became a composition on its own, distinct from the First Movement, though again sonically related, and therefore the Third Movement of these Three Pieces for Sonic Solitude. It's about 9 minutes long.
