For almost 5 years now I review in my free time new books in theology, theology and science, and philosophy for the Dutch library & schools system, NBD Biblion. I started in April 2007 and I am still very much enjoying it. Just for fun, I counted all my reviews up to today. And it turns out, to my own astonishment, that I reviewed 120 books so far…

Happy Valentine’s Day anyway… 
Recently, Richard Dawkins visited the Dutch university of Groningen for a public lecture. It was a major event, where eventually students sold (originally free) tickets for quite some money on the black market. Anyway, science journalist René Fransen, who works for the Groningen Universiteitskrant as well as for the Nederlands Dagblad did not get the chance to interview Dawkins. Instead, he asked scientists working at Groningen University what their opinion was about Richard Dawkins. I expected them to be enthusiastic about Dawkins’ qualities as a science popularizer. What I did not so much expect was the outright criticism of the scientists when it comes to Dawkins’ crusade against religion. Quite interesting.
Most of the scholarly stuff that could be found on the “old” website is now in place again (look in the top menu). Probably some links are no longer working, I would appreciate if visitors point out missing files or dead links through the e-mailform that can be found on the About page. Also, if you feel that articles or files are missing that were present at my old website, please don’t hesitate to inform me about the matter.
The website will be updated continuously. Also I plan to use this front page of the website as a kind of (English) blog with regular updates.
